Rich Cawthorne, President / Chief Executive Officer

Rich started in the retirement plan industry in 1999 and has since been working towards improving the quality of retirement plans and employee education. Rich received a B.S. in Finance from Bentley College and an MBA in Finance from Suffolk University. Additionally, Rich is an Investment Adviser Representative, a Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) and recently completed his coursework for the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from the University of Pittsburgh. Rich speaks quarterly at public conferences and investment committee meetings about the retirement plan industry's best practices” and prudent management of retirement plan investment offerings.

Rich enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children; his beautiful children also enjoy spending time with Rich, specifically during the very early hours of the morning.

 


 

Mark Salamone, Vice-President / Chief Financial Officer

Mark is also a Principal at Alpha Pension Group and has been in the retirement plan industry since 2003. Mark began his financial services career at NYLIFE Securities and later served as an Investment Adviser Representative for Eagle Strategies, LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser. Since joining Alpha Pension Group in 2006, Mark has worked with companies and their employees assisting with the implementation and coordination of their defined contribution retirement plans. Mark has a passion for working with plan fiduciaries to measure the success of the retirement plan and for developing action plans to pursue retirement plan objectives.

Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bentley University and has successfully completed his course work for the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation.

Outside of the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Brenda and their two children Jack and Isabella. Mark is an avid Boston sports fan and still believes he has a chance of playing for the Celtics one day.

 


 

Tracy Helms, Chief Compliance Officer

Tracy has been with Alpha since 2008. She is a graduate of Husson College with a B.S. in Business Management and Court & Conference Reporting. Tracy is currently the Chief Compliance Officer. During her tenure she has established and has been responsible for each administrative role at Alpha. As we have grown, Tracy has delegated and trained staff members into their roles.

Today, Tracy is responsible for overseeing, managing and evaluating compliance issues and concerns, ensuring that company policies and procedures are being followed as well as ensuring that behavior in the organization meets the company's standards of conduct. She works closely with the implementation of all incoming new business, compliance reporting, transition management and daily oversight of internal operations of Alpha.

Prior to Alpha, Tracy was a Freelance Court Stenographer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1989. She has also been a Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1989. Tracy's expertise in meticulous organization and keeping everyone going in the right direction comes naturally by her prior profession and also raising four children ages 26, 24, 20 and 17.

 


 

 

Keith Killion, Chief Operating Officer

Keith joined Alpha in 2018 bringing over ten years of retirement experience and knowledge. Keith received his B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College. Prior to joining Alpha, Keith worked for John Hancock/Manulife and New York Life in various leadership roles within the Finance and Accounting groups. Keith has also worked in various finance leadership roles in real estate, venture capital and retail over his career.

As the Chief of Operations Officer for Alpha, Keith leads all aspects of Alpha's operations. Keith and the Alpha team offer the highest level of service to all clients while continually looking to improve efficiency, communication and customer service.

Outside of work, Keith enjoys spending time with his three daughters, coaching youth sports, playing hockey and golf as well as traveling when time permits.

 


 

 

Greg Donahue, AIF, Chief Technology & Analytics Officer

Greg joined Alpha Pension Group in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Bentley University with a Minor in Law. As the Director of Investments, Greg manages the research and analytics for the investments used in our clients’ retirement plans and monitors our book of business to help ensure that our clients’ investments meet our specific IPS criteria. He is also the direct liaison between Alpha Pension Group and the numerous investment companies and retirement plan providers to make certain that our clients are given competitive plan pricing and investment options.

When not working, Greg is an avid skier in the winter, a golfer in the warmer months, and enjoys keeping fit year round. Surprisingly enough, Greg also has a background as a small-engine mechanic having grown up working at his family business in Whitman, MA.

Mike Newton, AIF, Senior Retirement Plan Services Manager

Mike currently manages the daily operations of Alpha Pension’s clients. He assists with plan design, investment selection, ERISA compliance, and relationship management. Prior to joining Alpha, Mike was a client relationship manager at The Hartford, where he helped advisors, TPAs, and plan sponsors administer corporate retirement plans. He has been working in the retirement industry since 2003. Mike earned a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University. Mike is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying skiing, sailing, hiking, and camping. Mike's favorite job is raising his two boys.



 

Chris Mansour, AIF, Retirement Plan Services Manager

Chris is an internal plan manager and licensed service associate at the Alpha Pension Group. He provides assistance to clients and retirement plan participants in regards to ERISA Compliance, investments, and the daily operations of the plan and relationship management.

Chris has been in the financial services industry since 2005. His professional career began at MFS Investment Management where he worked as a client service representative for both retail and retirement accounts. He later transitioned to The Hartford and MassMutual to work as a Plan Manager for qualified retirement plans.

Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The College of The Holy Cross, and an M.Ed. from The University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He also earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University.

Chris currently resides in Needham, MA with his wife Allison. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and friends.


 

Lisa Gerbrands, Transition Manager/Retirement Plan Services Manager

Lisa is an internal relationship and transition support manager at Alpha Pension Group. She provides assistance to clients on the daily operations of their plans and assists with the implementation of all incoming new business.

Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bridgewater State University.

Lisa began her career in the financial services industry in 1996 at Putnam Investments. She then transitioned to Mercer and Transamerica working with 401(k) plan sponsors as a primary point of contact for plan inquiries as well as in roles supporting new business implementation.

Lisa resides in Bellingham, MA with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time in Maine with her family, attending her children's activities and taking walks with her dog.

Robert Milas, CFA, CAIA, Chief Investment Officer

Rob joined Alpha in 2018 bringing over fifteen years of investment experience and knowledge. Rob received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Bryant University and his M.B.A. from the University of Rhode Island. Rob is a charter holder from both the CFA Institute and CAIA. Prior to joining Alpha, Rob worked for MassMutual and Fidelity Investments in various leadership roles within investments and product development.

As the Chief Investment Officer for Alpha, Rob leads all aspects of Alpha's investment services. Rob and the Alpha team offer diligence, risk management and client service related to investment lineups, risk management and investment philosophy.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. When he is not at work Rob can be found at the beach in the summer and on the ski slopes in the winter.

 


 

Alex Samuel Kozlowski, Investment Research Assistant

Sam joined Alpha Pension Group in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Maine with a Minor in Economics. His career in financial services began following graduation where he served as an Investor Service Representative at Putnam Investments. As an Investment Research Assistant at Alpha, Sam provides mentoring for our book of business as well as assistance in researching and analyzing investments that are used in our clients' retirement plans. He also acts as an intermediary between Alpha Pension Group and various plan providers to identify competitive investment options and plan pricing.

When outside of the office, Sam is a fanatical skier as well as an above-par golfer during the summer. He enjoys traveling, being outside, and spending time with his family dog, George.

Leah Shalbey, CRM Database Administrator/Internal Support Specialist

Leah joined Alpha in October of 2018 as the CRM Database Administrator/Internal Support Specialist. She graduated from Bryant University with a dual concentration in Finance and Psychology, as well as a minor in Entrepreneurship. Prior to Alpha, Leah worked at John Hancock as a global optimization finance intern, pursuing her finance degree in preparation for the "real world".

Leah is responsible for an integral part of Alpha with core responsibilities of managing the data input and workflows through our CRM system. She ensures all client meetings result in timely minutes, as well as making sure any action items are input in the CRM system. She is also supporting any special projects that are needed as well as working under the CFO for office support. She is always looking to learn anything new and will continue to improve her work each day.

Outside of work, Leah enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going up to her house in Maine. She also loves to play soccer and has been playing ever since she was young.

 


 

 

Tara Helms, Scheduling Coordinator, Sr. Internal Support Specialist

Tara is the Scheduling Coordinator and Sr. Internal Support Specialist at Alpha Pension Group. She joined the Alpha Team in 2019. Tara is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with her BSBA in Management and Marketing. Prior to Alpha Pension, Tara was a customer service manager for seven years.

In her role at Alpha, Tara’s daily focus is coordinating and overseeing the scheduling and preparation of all meetings and conference calls conducted by the advisers and education consultants, whether it be investment committee meetings, group education meetings or individual participant meetings. Tara also handles all administrative duties relating to the processing of outgoing and incoming client communications.

In her free time, Tara enjoys skiing, spending time with her family on the water in Maine as well as planning her upcoming wedding!

Nicole Rhind, Senior Consultant

Nicole brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry to her role as a senior consultant and member of the Alpha Pension leadership team. Prior to joining Alpha Pension Group, Nicole worked at Fidelity Investments for more than 15 years across multiple business units including business development, employee education, client management and advisor relations. Most recently, she specialized in plan benchmarking, expense analysis, plan design and fiduciary oversight to help companies provide retirement solutions and foster employee retirement readiness. In addition, Nicole previously worked for Thompson Financial Services and in Amman, Jordan for a USAID project aimed at modernizing the Jordanian Stock Market to attract retail and institutional investors.

Nicole earned an undergraduate degree from Boston College in Marketing and an MBA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, CA.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys skiing and time at the beach with her husband and three children. An avid though very slow runner, Nicole is always recruiting for the annual Narrangansett, RI Blessing of the Fleet 10-mile run.

 


 

 

David Bradshaw, Relationship Manager/Education Consultant

David joined Alpha Pension Group in 2013.  As an Investment Advisor Representative, David assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies. Additionally, he helps construct educational presentations for Alpha's clients and leads group education meetings.

David also works with many of the participants of Alpha's clients on an individual basis. He designs and provides guidance on investment strategies while making himself available to participants as a source of plan information as well as troubleshooting.

David is from Falmouth, MA. He attended Amherst College and currently lives in Cambridge, MA.  When out of the office, he enjoys reading, comedies, and both watching and playing sports.  Ever the optimist, David firmly believes that his men's league basketball team will win a championship one day.  (They won't!)


 

Tom Vine, VP of Sales

Tom is the VP of Sales for Alpha Pension Group. His main responsibility is educating companies and their employees on retirement plans. Tom personally meets with plan participants on their investment and financial planning needs. He will help you set goals and show you how to achieve them.

His areas of expertise include group education, investment portfolio design, and risk management. Tom believes the educated client is the best client. He currently speaks publicly to companies across New England on the importance of retirement planning.
 
Since 2010, Tom has been providing individuals and companies with retirement plan solutions.  Tom is an Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65 license), a Registered Representative (Series 6 license), and is also Life & Health Insurance licensed.

Tom and Kristen live in Plainville, MA where they spend most of their time with friends and family. He is known as a "Hobby Guy". Boating, golfing, skiing, music, and brewing beer are just a few of Tom's hobbies! It is uncommon not to find something in common with Tom.


 

Jennifer Sahady, Director of Education Services/Education Consultant

As the Director of Education Services, Jennifer uses her passion for retirement planning to lead education initiatives for the clients' of Alpha Pension Group. Jennifer is responsible for team training, designing and developing educational content, and data analytics. Jennifer is passionate about delivering engaging presentations that leave a lasting impression and lead toward meaningful improvements.

Starting back in 2004, Jennifer's financial industry experience includes client service management, contest design, and educational consulting. Previous companies include Fidelity Investments, Smith Barney, Mercer HR Services, Putnam Investments, and Empower Retirement.

A lifelong learner, Jennifer is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC Certification), an Investment Advisor Representative (Series 66), a LPL Registered Representative (Series 7 & 63 Licenses) and a Massachusetts Life Insurance Agent (MA Life Insurance License). (Series 7 &63 held through LPL Financial. Series 66 registration held through both Alpha Pension Group and LPL Financial).

When Jennifer isn't traveling for work she is traveling for fun. An avid traveler, Jennifer has explored 47 of our 50 states and 30 countries across Europe, Asia, and South America.

 


 

 

Jillian Beauregard

Education Consultant

Jillian is an Education Consultant with Alpha Pension Group. In her role, she conducts employee education presentations and individual meetings designed to help participants work towards achieving retirement readiness.

Her career in financial services started in 2005. Prior to joining Alpha Pension Group, Jillian worked in various sales, education, and communications roles at Fidelity Investments. Most recently, Jill worked as a Communications Consultant, helping her clients deliver key messaging and critical information to their participants by developing comprehensive communication materials. Her experience includes designing and delivering educational content, as well as regulatory notices, plan changes, corporate actions, and strategic plan messaging.

She specializes in providing thoughtful approaches to educating employees and delivering impactful presentations that inspire participants to take action.

Jill earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

 


 

Tom Morris

Education Consultant

Tom is an Education Consultant with Alpha Pension Group.  In his role, he conducts employee education presentations and individual meetings designed to help participants pursue retirement readiness.

Tom began his career in financial services in 2000 helping individuals with their retirement planning and investment needs. Prior to joining Alpha Pension Group, Tom’s most recent role in the industry was Director of Group Retirement Plans for a large Registered Investment Advisor. 

Tom specializes in providing guidance to employees to assist in their understanding of their retirement plan benefits.

Tom’s outside interests include cooking and home renovations. Tom and his wife live in Bedford, NH along with their cat and two rabbits.

 


 

Andreas Thulke, Education Consultant

Andreas joined Alpha Pension Group in 2018.  As an Education Consultant, he empowers participants to take control of their retirement preparation. Deciphering industry jargon into plain language, assisting participants in making educated decisions regarding their retirement plan. Andreas enjoys working directly and personally with our participants. 

He spent two decades as a consultant and project manager in the insurance industry across the globe, before choosing to put his experience and skills to good use in actually helping people.

Andreas graduated from the University of Applied Science FHTW in Berlin, Germany, with a major in Business Computing.  When out of the office, he enjoys an active lifestyle, as triathlete, runner, and traveler.

 


 

Dale Powers, Education Consultant

Dale joins Alpha Pension Group, Inc. as an Education Consultant after spending 30 years in the financial services industry. In his role, he conducts employee education presentations and individual meetings designed to help participants work towards achieving retirement readiness.

His career started as a salesman before spending 23 years in the Compliance Department as a Vice President and Compliance Officer for New York Life Retirement Plan Services.

Dale currently holds multiple licenses, including his Series 7, 26, 63 (held through LPL Financial) and his Series 65 (held through Alpha Pension Group, Inc.). Dale has a BS in Criminal Justice and is also a US Army Veteran.

In his free time Dale designs halftime shows for multiple marching bands around the world as well as playing golf and his annual trips to Aruba with his wife, Elizabeth.
